There are only two things in life that can put a smile on my face: cats and coffee. Luckily for me, on the seventh day, God created Crumbs and Whiskers – a cat café in the middle of Georgetown. When I first heard about Crumbs and Whiskers, I shed a tear and immediately made reservations. $15 will get you an hour to interact with the cats, as well as complimentary tea and coffee.

When I arrived, I had heart palpitations because there were cats as far as the eye could see. There were cats sleeping on the cozy couches, there was a cat in a basket, and there were cats just frolicking about. In total, I spotted 23 of them.

It took every ounce of self-discipline for me not to adopt them all and try to raise them in my already-crowded triple.

The amazing thing about Crumbs and Whiskers is that the cats are rescue cats from the Washington Humane Society, and customers can adopt the cats right there and then. The café also looks like it’s straight out of Pinterest, with its minimalistic yet cozy interior design.

There are Christmas lights strung up to create a home-y vibe, but the white furniture paired with the wooden floors makes it comforting. The presence of the feline friends just makes Crumbs and Whiskers the place to be. If you ever feel like channeling your inner 2-Chainz and having your right hand on the pussy and left hand on a cup of coffee, head down to Crumbs and Whiskers for a great time.
